Presented by the Boating Industry Association (BIA) in conjunction with delivery partner Mulpha Events, the four-day event will take over Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park from 14 to 17 August for the first time. Key brands and marine businesses confirmed for 2025 include: Akzo Nobel, Blakes Marine, Century Batteries, Freedom Boat Club, Garmin, GM Specialty Vehicles, GME, Good Times Marine, Honda, Hunts Marine, Insinc Marine, Kawasaki, Lewis Boats, Malibu, Mercury, MW Marine, Nautique Central, Navico, Sea-Doo, Sirocco Marine, Transport for NSW - Boating Safety Zone, TR Marine, Watersports Marine and Webbe Marine.

Feedback from the recently held Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is still being received. Maritimo, Australia's world-class luxury motor yacht builder, held an event for the global launch of the all-new M50 Flybridge and S60 Sedan Motor Yachts at the show. The powerboat.world team attended and talked to Neil McCabe, Maritimo's Design Office Manager, and Phil Candler, Maritimo's General Manager Operations, to find out more. Watch the video interview.

At the same time, celebrations were taking place just down the road. The inaugural CHAPMAN X TBW Rendezvous lit up the waterfront and brought together all levels of the marine industry. Held 23 May within The Boat Works' superyacht yard, the event for crew and industry illuminated the beach and The Watersheds at the 55-acre facility. The balmy evening was filled with strobe lights, pulsing beats from the DJ booth, fire-twirlers, stilt walkers, and an impressive display of classic cars, superyachts moored at the marina.

News from New Zealand: Sunreef Yachts is delighted to announce a new strategic partnership with Ocean Independence Auckland, further strengthening the shipyard's presence in New Zealand's dynamic yachting market. Ocean Independence Auckland will now represent Sunreef Yachts in New Zealand, offering discerning clients access to Sunreef's full range of customizable multihulls.

Rayglass Boats, a brand of Brunswick Corporation, has unveiled the all-new Protector R Edition range, a bold evolution of its iconic high-performance RIBs. These exclusive models are engineered to deliver next-level performance, styling, and innovation. Leading the lineup is the 330 Targa R Edition, the first vessel in New Zealand to be powered by Mercury Racing's new 400R V10 outboard engines. With a top speed exceeding 60 knots, this 10-metre boat is one of the fastest production cabin RIBs in the country.

In Australia, the Stessl family is celebrating a monumental year, toasting a 50-year legacy, 20-year milestone and new beginnings. 2025 is a remarkable year for the Stessl family as their flagship brand, Makocraft celebrates its 20th anniversary. This landmark moment also coincides with the official retirement of legendary boat builder Alf Stessl, who caps off an extraordinary 50-year career in Australian boat manufacturing.

With the future of the industry in mind, last week the BIA partnered with the Industry School to deliver an information evening for young people looking to join the Marine Industry Academy. The Academy was developed specifically for high school students. Young people in Years 10 to 12 are able to continue their schooling with the Industry School and start their school-based apprenticeship or traineeship with some of the best employers the Southern Hemisphere has got to offer.

In Queensland, Riviera, one of Australia's premium luxury motor yacht builders, is inviting prospective apprentices and their families to attend the Apprenticeship Information Evenings & Twilight Factory Tours to be held on July 23 and 31. Hosted at the world-class 16.8-hectare manufacturing facility in the Coomera Marine Precinct, these offer aspiring tradespeople and their families the chance to explore and understand career opportunities through the Riviera Academy of Excellence.
