Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2024-2025 - Stage 4 Overall

Tenzor Team and Ada JR triumph

With challenging sailing conditions, the fourth Stage of Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2024-2025 concluded this weekend in Anthaven Resort, Bodrum. Organized by Tenzor Sailing Club Türkiye, the event brought together a very competitive fleet with local and international sailors in the crew staff.

After two race days with light winds and three races in total, the last race day gave an opportunities to enjoy a full schedule and 4 more races.

"It was windy on the start, but during the day it shifted quite a bit and made it very difficult for Race Committee to set the course", commented Can Giray, PRO of regatta. "However, we sailed 4 challenging races as scheduled on the last day of racing and 7 in total. In such a competitive series, it was very important that all participating teams showed good sportsmanship. The smiling faces of all the participants at the end of the races always make us very happy."

Tenzor Team helmed by Andrey Pushkin took the initiative in their hands and emerged victorious with two race wins and 23 points. Bogatyrs led by Igor Rytov pushed hard in each race and secured second place, just one point behind the leaders. In third place was Hubex team, skippered by young helmsman Anton Frolov, with 27 points, highlighted by a victories in the third and fourth races of the event.

Very close to the prize-winners was Dolce Vita team of Inna Balashova who managed to win one race but was unlucky with several races out of top-6, so the crew finished fourth with 2 points behind the third place. Atoll Sailing Team, led by Anatoly Arnautov, due to UFD in fourth race lost the chance to podium, but could rounded out the top five.

The regatta featured a great lineup of top-level sailors, including Olympians and world champions. One of them, Slovenian Karlo Hmeljak, two-times participant of Olympic Games in 2008 and 2012, serving as tactician Ameera Jet team, helped his crew to reach the 6th place in overall standings.

Great performance of Corinthian teams proved a high level of sailors and their big motivation.

The winning team, Ada JR, included sailors from France, Russia and Türkiye with Alp Doguoglu at the helm. Successful actions of the crew and good tactics decisions provided them the gold medals in Corinthian division and high 7th place in overall. Ayaz team and O1 Properties completed regatta with 2nd and 3rd results of Corinthian's podium.

Gaswar team skippered by Alexander Romanov with 8th overall place, Double V Sailing Team led by Mikhail Senatorov at 9th position and Bars Sailing Team with Maksim Batrakov rounded the top-10.

With this event, the provisional overall standings of the Series have tightened: Tenzor Team remains at the top, followed by "Bogatyrs" and Dolce Vita teams.

The 5th and final stage of Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2024-2025 will take place from April 10 to 13 in Bodrum. Organizers are awaiting more teams to join the regatta as it will also count as first leg of Tour of Türkiye Series 2025.
