The Fal and Falmouth Bay provide one of the most attractive sailing environments in the UK and will host the 38th Falmouth Classics Regatta from 13 - 15 June.

One of the largest classic sailing events in the UK, it is a must for all owners of Classics vessels who wish to race their craft in one of thirteen classes or just showcase them alongside in Falmouth Haven and in the parades. Entries have been welcomed on the website: falmouthclassics.org.uk from early February and already the event for 2025 is shaping up to be a truly international one with entries from France and Germany as well as ports and harbours from Fowey to the Essex Rivers and the Channel Islands.

Several entries have been received from vessels launched in the early 20th century and organisers expect historic vessels from the late 19th century to attend.

The Port of Falmouth, the Carrick Roads and Falmouth Bay will be filled with lug, Bermudan and gaff sails for the four days creating images of the past. Craft will arrive in the port on 12th June ready to participate in the three races on Friday and Saturday and the parades of sail and power which take place on Sunday 15th June. Ashore there will be two receptions for skippers and crews and the public will be invited on Saturday to get up close to the fleet moored alongside Falmouth Haven. An increasingly popular all comers rowing and sculling competition will be held at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club on Saturday afternoon and for three days there will be a Maritime Village on Custom House Quay.

Vessels entered to race and parade will be eligible for prizes provided by Teamac (race 3), Noble Masts, Musto and the Tregothnan estate.

Vessels that race at Falmouth and the classic sailing events at Dartmouth, Looe and Fowey will be eligible for points in the West Country Classic Series.

Skippers and crews will also be able to enjoy the eighty plus groups that will be performing around the town as part of the famous and very popular Falmouth International Shanty Festival.

Paul Hobson, Chairman of Falmouth Classics Association said, "We are most appreciative of the support provide by our partner, major and event sponsors and advertisers who enable us to hold this event each year. I hesitate to single out any sponsors but must mention the Falmouth Harbour Commissioners who will host the event in the port and are providing discounted berthing."
