The fifth season of Croatia's premier sailing competition, the Luki Baustoffe CRO Melges 24 Cup, kicks off this weekend (March 8th and 9th) with a regatta in Biograd. Organized by the Briva Sailing Club, the regatta has attracted 13 outstanding crews, led by Mataran 24, the current world and European champions in the Corinthian division, and Razjaren, who had a dream season last year, winning European gold overall, the Melges 24 European Series, the Croatian Championship title, and the overall CRO Melges 24 Cup.

"Our CRO Melges 24 story, which has been successfully running for five years, began right here in Biograd in 2021. As the president of the Croatian Melges 24 Class Association, I am thrilled that we are expanding the base of crews participating in the Cup regattas every year. With a new main sponsor, Croatia's strongest sailing competition is introducing a special junior category for crews under 24 this season, as we want to attract more young people to our regattas and compete with the best Croatian sailors," said Luka Šangulin, member of the Biograd regatta organizing committee and president of the Croatian Melges 24 Class Association.

The Croatian Sailing Champions League enters its fifth season with a new main sponsor, Luki Baustoffe, a company that recognized the potential of the CRO Melges 24 Cup and wants to contribute to its further development.

"What is happening with the Melges 24 class in Croatia is truly inspiring. Our Croatian fleet has grown into one of the largest in the world in just a few years, thanks to the passion and dedication of the sailors and organizers. I have followed this journey firsthand as a competitor with CRO867 Razjaren and decided to support the CRO Melges 24 Cup as a partner because I believe in its potential and want to contribute to its further growth. This is not just a sponsorship; it is an investment in the future of Croatian sailing," emphasized Lukasz Podniesinski, founder and CEO of Luki Baustoffe.

Series 2025. Six regattas are planned for the Luki Baustoffe CRO Melges 24 Cup this year, taking place along the coast from Opatija to Split, with partnerships from Angelina Yacht Charter, Sailing Point Croatia, North Sails, digital studio Akvarij, regate.com.hr, Raiser digital agency, EmergenSea, ProMarine, and Dustom Sails.

Another novelty is that for the first time, two regattas in Croatia (Opatija and Trogir) will be part of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series, where the Croatian crew Razjaren defends the overall victory title.
