Chichester Yacht Club Snowflake Series Preview

by Mark Green 18 Jan 2025 11:48 GMT 2 February - 16 March 2025

Time to pull on your thermals and join us for the annual Chichester Yacht Club Snowflake Series. We are looking forward to seeing familiar and new faces for the highlight of our winter racing season.

This year the series has four dates starting on the Sunday 2nd February, then every two weeks until the 16th March.

Snowflake often draws 30-40 boats from across the south to Chichester Yacht Club's "Lake". The tidal lake area typically gives us three hours of racing, with the flood and ebb adding to the challenge. The racing takes place from a committee boat start within sight of the club slipways, making launching and recovery very easy.

CYC has excellent facilities, with warm changing rooms and hot showers, a tea bar and after racing a full bar and restaurant. The large car park in front of the club usually has ample space for rigging (but competitors are asked to move trolleys onto the grass areas to make space for other visitors). There will be a race briefing an hour before each race in the Sloop, where any questions can be addressed.

The Snowflake is an open handicap event for all monohull dinghies.
