The 2024 Australasian Institute of Marine Surveyors Conference (AIMS) was held Friday 27 September in Brisbane at the Stamford Plaza Hotel.

BIA's Andrew Fielding was invited to attend as a guest speaker on the topic of Marine Brokers. This was an opportunity to highlight the importance of a collaborative relationship between AIMS and BIA. Other guest speakers included Kell Dillon (General Manager, Maritime Safety Queensland), Kim Gerbers (COO, Gladstone Ports Corporation) and Chris Barber (National Operations Manager Central, AMSA).

The day's program included a wide range of topics such as Biofuels, Ship Design, Insurances, Fire Suppression, Australian Builders Plate, Employment, Lithium Batteries and AI, culminating with a Conference Dinner and Awards Ceremony.

BIA congratulates Dr Eric Perez (CEO, AIMS) and his team for putting together and delivering an informative and engaging event.
