This year it was decided to try and encourage greater interclub participation between two of Kent's leading sailing clubs by introducing a competition between Bough Beech and Chipstead as part of their annual Solo open meetings.

The approach adopted being that each fleet would nominate four helms who would sail at both events with the top three results from each club going forward into the final interclub results.

Sailing Chandlery generously agreed to sponsor the series by providing vouchers for the winning team.

Round 1 of the interclub was held at Bough Beech on 8th June. John Reed (Bough Beech) put together a strong series to take first position in the interclub, and 4th position overall in the open meeting.

Jamie Clementson from Chipstead SC was the leading Chipstead helm closely followed by team mates Mick Healy, James Hart and Keith Turtle.

At the conclusion of Round 1 the Bough Beech team of John Reed, David Mason and Patrick Ward lead the interclub. Round 2 is scheduled at Chipstead SC on 15th June.
