Attendees will get a taste of the superyacht lifestyle at the 2024 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (May 23-26) with the launch of the Lagoon Beach Club VIP Experience.
"We're incredibly excited to launch our revamped VIP and corporate hospitality offering at this year's show," said Johan Hasser, General Manager of Mulpha Events. "Located in the grounds of InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, the all-new Lagoon Beach Club is a brand-new elevated precinct offering a luxury beach club vibe overlooking the resort's lagoon pool and award-winning marina."
The Yacht Sales Co incorporating Multihull Solutions are set to showcase a world-leading multihull line-up at their Mandurah Open Day event on March 23 in Western Australia. The event will be held between 10am - 4pm at the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club, only an hour south of Perth. Boating enthusiasts can explore the latest models on display from Fountaine Pajot including the Isla 40 Sailing Catamaran and the MY5 Motor Yacht, plus the ILIAD 53S Power Catamaran from ILIAD Catamarans.
The Superior Soiree at Howard Smith Wharves will send-off Marinas24 delegates after two fulling days of conferencing and exhibition. To be held overlooking the Brisbane River, the final dinner is again set to cap off another successful event allowing delegates to relax and enjoy each other's company. The Dubai International Boat Show, renowned as one of the world's most prestigious boat shows in the Middle East, witnessed a showcase of Australian craftsmanship and excellence from February 28 to March 3. The event, celebrating its 30th edition, welcomed a total of 400 new brands and companies along with exhibitors from more than 55 countries, including first time exhibitor nations Austria, Finland, Sweden and the Republic of Korea.
Representing Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) and Superyacht Australia, offering an impressive array of products and services, included Anchors & Dove, Australian Superyachts, DOCKPRO, East Coast Marine Centre, Echo Yachts, GME, Maritimo, Nautical Solutions, Pantaenius Yacht Insurance, and Savwinch.
From the Boating Industry Association (BIA): In their efforts to promote the boating industry as a great career path, BIA has commenced taking careers advisors around the Coomera Marine Precinct and the TAFE Coomera Marine Centre of Excellence. 14 local school representatives on two occasions in February saw first-hand the purpose-built TAFE facilities as well as the marinas and businesses on Waterway Drive. Taking the advisors on a guided tour of the precinct enables them to hear about the job opportunities that exist in the marine industry and to see the word class facilities from where the businesses operate.
For sailors: The Super Yacht Racing Association (SYRA) is very pleased to announce Shirley Robertson as the new Manager of the association. With a wealth of experience and success in the sport and a notable presence in superyacht racing, Robertson brings a valuable perspective and new energy to the SYRA. Shirley Robertson OBE made history by becoming the first British woman to win Gold Medals at consecutive Olympic Games and has become one of the most recognisable faces in the sport of sailing.
Vale Annie Judd. Well-known Whitsundays charter yacht fleet owner Annie Judd of Charter Yachts Australia, sadly passed away on December 9. BIA President Adam Smith and the BIA team extend their condolences to Annie's husband of 40 years, John Mol and all their team at CYA. Annie and John took ownership of CYA in 2000 and became BIA members in Queensland the same year.
Throughout the last 20+ years, Annie and John worked to make CYA one of the leading bareboat charter operators in Australia, sharing their passion for cruising the iconic Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef with thousands of sailors and holidaymakers from around the world. Annie was very active in also working with BIA to help promote career opportunities in the local North Queensland marine industry and together with John was a strong voice for the charter boat industry via the Whitsunday Charter Boat Operators Industry Association.
I knew Annie over many years and would always take the opportunity to say hello at the many boat shows she attended. She was always full of life, totally positive and a joy to know. My condolences go to husband John, her family and friends.
