Dometic's Breathe 4500, an innovative ioniser accessory that effortlessly purifies the air onboard any vessel, has been installed by French retrofitters 'Yacht Solutions' onboard a Lagoon 5546, marking the first time the device has been fitted in the EMEA region.

Seven of the compact state-of-the-art air purification devices were ordered by Yacht Solutions to be installed on the Lagoon yacht, recently released from CNB boat building factory in Bordeaux, France.

Using positive and negatively charged ions, the Dometic Breathe 4500 reduces pathogens and mould spores by attacking their core structure. Both odours and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are reduced as ions break them down on a molecular level.

The new system also removes allergens and dust from the air. As ions in the air are attracted to particles, their size is increased. This allows them to be easily caught in the filters or causes them to fall out of the air.

Aboard the Lagoon 5546, the Breathe 4500 was fitted to Dometic's DTG air condition system, already installed on the vessel. The Breathe is functional with a range of HVAC systems, but performs best when paired with a Dometic unit. Yacht Solution's selected the innovative ioniser based on its functionality, effective design, and an increased desire from boat owners for better air purification.

The Breathe 4500 is a simple, less expensive alternative to regular air purifiers using traditional technology like HEPA Filters and UV light. The Dometic Breathe 4500 is also easier to add to existing climate control systems aboard today's boats.

The Dometic Breathe 4500 is designed as an easy and universal addition to a wide range of Dometic climate control systems. Boaters just need to drill holes anywhere in the airflow path, push in the brush grommets and route power to the unit — and they are ready to Breathe purified, odour-free air.

Romain Vandezande, Design Office Manager at Yacht Solutions, said: "The desire for air purification is one of the most growing demands we're seeing from customers, and the Breathe 4500 is a solution which fills this desire. It is compact, efficient, and effective. We're confident it will enhance the customer's onboard experience even further. As seen on this boat, the installation of the seven purifiers was straightforward, and on larger units, integrating the ioniser is even easier."

Eric Fetchko, President of the Marine Segment at Dometic, said: "We're pleased to be selected by Yacht Solutions to help provide a more comfortable and healthier onboard environment for this particular vessel. The newly launched Breathe 4500 is a solution we're proud to offer to the marine market, and we're thrilled to receive positive feedback on its ease to install, compact design, and functionality."
