Dutch HVAC specialists MAR-IX launched an industry-leading support programme during the METSTRADE show in Amsterdam.

Designed to cover all bases for owners and captains alike, MAR-IX CARE provides an extended 10-year warranty, annual onboard multi-point HVAC checks, 24/7 online support and updates for MAR-IX's innovative MASTER monitoring and control system and guarantees the availability of spare-parts for at least 20 years.

MAR-IX has become a frontrunner in the sector for HVAC systems on superyachts by offering custom-built products and solutions that offer up to 80% energy savings. Now the company is taking its future-oriented and sustainable approach to the next level by providing peace of mind for long after the normal warranty period ends.

"MAR-IX CARE has been developed to reflect the high expectations our clients rightly have for their HVAC systems," explains MAR-IX sales director Niels Tuininga. "Smoothly functioning heating, ventilation and air-conditioning are essential elements of a comfortable stay on a superyacht and our programme is designed to offer maximum support to those responsible for maintaining these systems. It also gives the assurances that owners deserve in terms of warranties and spare part availability for many years ahead."

An air of certainty

Research shows that captains and owner's reps have a clear need for certainty in their annual financial forecasts. MAR-IX CARE is an advanced service package that covers unforeseen costs and provides a continuity guarantee for MAR-IX HVAC systems. A financial forecast with a high degree of accuracy is backed up by an annual check-up of the complete system and an extension of the normal factory warranty.

"We are offering this unrivalled structural approach to client support for a fixed annual fee," adds Niels Tuininga. "Personalised to each individual yacht, MAR-IX CARE is a logical consequence of our goal to ensure the most advanced HVAC systems perform optimally anywhere and at all times. It will ensure that unpleasant financial surprises become a thing of the past."

Key elements of MAR-IX CARE

Under the terms of the programme, the factory warranty is extended by up to 10 years from the date of commissioning, with the system checked annually by a MAR-IX service engineer. All MAR-IX components are covered, including rotating parts, pumps and compressors. Replacement parts such as air filters and condenser cleaners are regularly sent to clients with the costs included in the fee. Uniquely in the market today, spare parts will remain available for at least 20 years.

All MAR-IX systems on superyachts are equipped with the company's MASTER Monitoring & Control system, allowing HVAC system components to communicate with each other. With log files saved and all data recorded, errors are easily diagnosed. MAR-IX engineers can operate the system online to adapt, with software updates being part of the MAR-IX CARE package. The service department also provides online support via advanced diagnostics to identify problems in advance and swiftly resolve them.

This extended warranty plan can be purchased any time before the standard MAR-IX factory warranty expires and is transferable to new owners of the yacht, enhancing the resale value.
