Despite a storm warning today, two races were successfully completed on the second day of the 2023 ILCA 6 Youth & Men's World Championships, hosted by the Gdmina Dziwonow.

The conditions were challenging for both the race committee and the sailors, with a shifty southerly wind of 13-18 knots and gusts up to 25 knots. However, each sailor now has a dropped race on the scoreboard due to the completion of the four championship races.

Italy's Mattia Cesana, two-time ILCA 6 Youth World Champion, continues to lead the competitive youth men's division with six points - tied with fellow countryman Mattia Santostefano. Hidde Schraffordt of The Netherlands sits in third overall, just one point behind the Italians.

Another Dutch sailor, Roos Wind, holds the lead in the youth women's division with only three points. She has three first-place finishes and one sixth, which became her dropped race. Italians Maria Vittoria Arseni and Ginevra Caracciolo sit in second and third, respectively, with just four and five points, after each of them won a race yesterday and today.

In the men's division, Croatia's Alex Cvinar continues to lead the fleet. Oliver Allen-Wilcox of Great Britain is just two points behind in second, and New Zealand's George Lane holds third.

Two more races are scheduled for tomorrow, with the first warning signal at 10:30.

Organizing partners are the Municipality of Dziwnow in conjunction with the Sailing Club Baltic Dziwnow and the ILCA.
