There are less than 50 days to go until this year's National Youth Regatta, the annual regatta of the National Schools Sailing Association. This year the event is being held at Draycote Water, Warwickshire.

Everything needed for a brilliant week's racing and socialising will happen on site. Severn Trent have kindly allowed on-site camping and Fernhurst books are sponsoring the event. Most sailors will camp on site, but sailors can just pay to enter the event should they wish. The aim is to run 6 fleets including a rookie fleet for sailors that are in their first year of racing and haven't attended a national championship.

We're expecting between 150 and 200 sailors to enter and enjoy one of the finest inland waters in the country. Full information about the event is available here.

We're aware that not all junior sailors are aware of the event, and we'd like as many first timers to attend as possible. If you aren't sure which team you'd be in please contact Steph at the NSSA, . Draycote is offering charter boats at £50 for a single hander, and £75 for a double hander.

As well as fleet races there are special races including the wonderful Mount Haes trophy. The list of trophies to be presented is so long that it takes up a couple of pages! There really is something for everyone.

The club has a reputation for delivering high quality racing, and with a committed team of volunteers the event is predicted to be a huge success.

The event is as much about camping and having fun with your friends as it is about the sailing and racing. We can't wait to see as many sailors as possible for a fabulous, friendly week.
