The Nacra 15 class is excited to launch its 2023 UK National Series, as well as an action packed summer training programme, ahead of the RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show this weekend. The series is set to provide a variety of high-speed, tactical racing opportunities for the growing youth multihull fleet!

Make sure to visit the UK Nacra 15 Class Association on the Nacra UK stand (B28) at this weekend's RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show to find out how to get involved in the most exciting youth class, and to speak with some of our sailors, parents, coaches and representatives from Nacra Sailing.

GP1: RYA Youth National Championships

The pinnacle of the UK youth sailing calendar, the RYA Youth Nationals looks set to provide five days of action packed racing! The wide range of conditions found in Portland Harbour and Weymouth Bay promise to challenge all teams throughout the week, including international teams traveling to London 2012 venue for the first event in the 2023 European Super Series.

GP2: Rutland Catamaran Open

The annual Rutland SC event is returning with a bang in 2023, hosting some of the UK's biggest catamaran fleets, including the A-Class, Hurricane 5.9 and Formula 18! The youth multihull sailors will join for the second event in the UK Nacra 15 National Series.

GP3: East Coast Piers Race

Hosted by Marconi SC in Essex, the Nacra 15 fleet will take part in the iconic East Coast Piers Race weekend, including a day of 'round-the-cans' handicap racing, as well as the 29 mile 'Colne Point' long-distance race! This offers an exciting endurance challenge for the next generation of high-performance sailors, making the most of the world-class safety support and incredible onshore atmosphere to offer a unique opportunity amongst any of the RYA youth classes!

GP4: Grafham Catamaran Open (UK Inland Championships)

Inland racing makes up a huge part of the dinghy racing scene in the UK, recognised by the UK Nacra 15 class as we return to Grafham Water SC for their annual catamaran open! Prepare for some top speeds and tight tactical racing on the flat inland waters in the heart of Cambridgeshire!

GP5: Weston Catamaran Open (UK National Championships)

A growing hub for Nacra 15 activity on the South Coast, sailors will battle for the UK National Championship title on Southampton Water, with Weston SC having always provided close racing, great conditions and spectator views of the racing directly in-front of the club!

Beyond the UK...

The UK National Series will be complemented by an action packed European Super Series, kicking off at the RYA Youth National Championships at WPNSA before heading to The Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Belgium, Switzerland and Spain!

The Nacra 15 Open European Championships will, for the first time, be held alongside the Nacra 17 Junior (U24) World Championships at RBSC Duinbergen in Knokke Heist, Belgium in July!. Racing at this 'beach-club' style venue, the event highlights the pathway between the Nacra 15 Youth Multihull and Nacra 17 Olympic Multihull, and we look forward to seeing British Nacra 15 sailors past and present competing in both fleets.

Notice of Race and Entry information are available here.

UK Nacra 15: Summer Training

Launching a full summer training programme, the class aims to provide training opportunities to all sailors. The RYA will select a Summer Squad based on performance at the RYA Youth National Championships, whilst Class Open Training provides opportunities for newer teams. All camps are run side-by-side, helping to create an inclusive class culture, with structured coaching for RYA Youth Squad, Development and Transition groups.

Taster sessions can be organised alongside training camps, allowing new sailors to experience the welcoming on-shore environment and to join in on the water with an experienced sailor on the Nacra UK demo boat.
