Nacra 15 Demo Day at the WPNSA

by Roger Cerrato 29 Apr 20:40 BST 26 April 2025

15 sailors from the Topper, ILCA, 29er and Feva fleets joined us on Saturday April 26th for a Nacra 15 Demo Day at WPNSA. Despite the light winds the sailors came off the water with big smiles after experiencing the thrills of Nacra 15 sailing!

Despite any pre-conceptions that may exist, the UK Nacra 15 Class Association committee is focused on showing sailors that it's possible to transition directly into the 15 from any of the junior classes. With a 50/50 gender split that's the envy of others and recent class sailors moving on to race boats such as the Cape 31 and J70 as well as into the Crew For Gold programme it's clear that the skills learnt in the Nacra 15 are very transferable.

To sign up for your own demo please head to www.nacra15.co.uk/getting-started/transition/request-a-taster-sail

We'll have a boat at Rutland for the RYA Eric Twiname Champs next weekend so head over to see the boat for yourself or catch us at the talk on Sunday.

Pivot on this
I despise the way ‘pivot' got used as many times as those wretched QR codes... Yes indeed. As much as I would hate to take people back to the COVID era, that's exactly what I've just done.
