With no more competitions in sight for the 2022 Freestyle Pro Tour, the official rankings can be confirmed. Maaike Huvermann (Severne/MUF) comes out on top after winning at the 2022 EFPT Surf Opening in Austria.

Claiming the title for the fourth ranking year in a row, the dutchie proves she is absolutely dominant on the European freestyle scene. Although the number of successfully ran women's events still leaves a lot to wish for, the 2022 ranking does boast an impressive number of new women entering competition. Read more about the 2022 Freestyle Pro Tour Women's fleet below.

Coming into the 2022 season, Maaike Huvermann was a sure favourite, especially after her impressive win in Theologos the year before. Wearing the yellow jersey, she took on a stacked fleet on the chocolate Neusiedlersee. With lots of new names on the board, she had to contend the podium places against strong newcomers: Slovenian Lina Erzen (Duotone) and German Lisa Kloster (Sailloft). Despite light winds, power moves were on each of the women's menu's, giving Huvermann a run for her money. In the end she managed to fend off all threats and topped the podium comfortably.

The rest of the 2022 season was promised to be epic for the women. The Freestyle Pro Tour is committed to each event hosting both Men AND Women, which was made apparent in the 2022 calendar. With the most women's events ever one a single calendar, the battle was on. Unfortunately the turnout for the next event in Vieste was insufficient to run a competition. All other events were called off for both men and women, leading to the Women's European Freestyle Champion being decided based on one event only. Check out a quick recap from that event below:

Congratulations to Maaike for claiming the top spot once again, and to Lina Erzen and Lisa Kloster for claiming 2nd and 3rd respectively. Check out the full ranking below. With a fresh and strong female turnout in Austria, the FPT is excited to see what the 2023 season will bring!
