We invite our European friends to join us at the Cannes Yachting Festival this September 6 - 12 to see the Balance 482, inBalance, and to meet Phil Berman and our team. Demo sails will take place before the show on September 2nd and 3rd.

We invite our North American friends to join us at the Annapolis Boat Show October 13 - 17 to see the Balance 442, Umoya. Phil Berman, Mark Delany, and the entire Balance team will be on hand.

Prior to the Annapolis Boat show we will be offering demo sails on Umoya, with first priority given to those with 442's on order. We will be offering demo sails during the Annapolis show of Zephyr, hull #2 of the Balance 482.

We will also have a Balance 526 on display at a nearby marina for inspection.

?And do not miss the Balance Owners party on Friday night at the show!

To sign up for inspection appointments in Cannes or Annapolis, or to inquire about a potential demo sail of either a 482 or 442, please contact at

Balance lines 'em up

The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront is buzzing over the site of three beautiful new Balance Catamarans lined up together. Congratulations to Jono, Helga and Kai on the arrival of Sea Life, their new Balance 482. And congratulations to Peter and Corey on the launch of Cataylst, with a custom shade christened Blue 482. Awesome stuff! And then there is Sage, hull #2 of the 442, with her stunning sage color and American Oak wood interior. Ben and Liz are grinning ear to ear as our Cape Town teams begin her commissioning process. Soon to follow we'll be launching the next Balance 442 and a 526 Mark II. Exciting times at Balance Catamarans! #teamwork!

Balance 482 SeaLife's Ocean Monitoring Project

Jono Rabley and his wife Helga and their son, Kai, have embarked on an ocean monitoring project on their recently launched Balance 482, SeaLife, and already two other families/vessels in the Balance Community have signed up to join them on the project.

Jono is a civil engineer with a successful career in environmental preservation through environmental consulting, remediation, and industrial waste/product management. Helga worked in the watersports industry and has competed in Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Racing.

As the nature of his work would suggest, Jono is passionate about the environment. He and Helga have always been passionate about the sea, sailing and kitesurfing, so it came as no surprise that they founded the NuEarth Foundation to inspire the next generation and create awareness for ocean monitoring.

The family wanted to include ocean monitoring in their travels. So Jono spent time investigating the right fit in ocean monitoring equipment. They selected SubCTech's OceanPack™ RACE unit - the same ocean monitoring equipment carried by the Vendee Globe vessel which pioneered a similar monitor project for its last race.

Starting in 2019, Jono began collaborating with SubCTech and James Cooks (Head of Electrical) and Peter Dean (Project Manager) at Balance Catamarans Cape Town to ensure that the unit would work effectively in the Balance 482 catamarans - including all future models.

The SubCTech OceanPack™ RACE equipment measures PH, salinity, water temperature and CO2 levels, as well as air pressure and air temperature. This data is then verified by a scientist and then made available to the scientific community to advance research projects. The goal is to build a body of research using the diverse travels of sailors to monitor sea health.

The unit was installed in Cape Town last week, with a technical team from SubCTech overseeing the installation. Watch for more on our Balance channels as well as the NuEarth Foundation website.

You can email if you are interested in joining the project. All sailors - not just Balance owners - are invited to join this project!

Balance Catamarans' Paul Britton named ASA Instructor of the Year

Congratulations to Paul Britton, a talented Balance owner and course leader at Balance University for wining ASA's Instructor of the Year 2022. As you can imagine, Paul is a very experienced sailor and passionate about teaching sailing, and who has over the last seven years given back to sailing as an ASA Instructor.

Paul spent considerable effort designing the curriculum for Balance University - the course specifically designed for owners to help them learn the systems. The first course was held in Mallorca, Spain, on inBalance, our company's 482. And last week a second Balance University course was led by Paul in chilly Cape Town!

Check in with if you are interested in attending the next courses.
