It will be the first edition of Sail West since the start of the Covid pandemic. Both competitions will be held in accordance with the public health and social measures that are in place.

The Sail East and Sail West events are part of a series of three Regional Championships that are overseen by Sail Canada, which also includes an event in Central Canada to be held July 23-24 at the Hudson Yacht Club, QC.

These three regional championships are attended by:

  • U15 sailors in the Optimist class;

  • Open class sailors in Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, 420, 29er and Optimist classes.

These competitions provide a chance for sailors to train and compete with high-level sailors in their region, in addition to serving as talent identification opportunities for regional and provincial sailing teams, as development and mentoring opportunities for coaches, as well as training and development opportunities for officials and volunteers.
