Luxury Yacht Group celebrates 20 years in business!

by Luxury Yacht Group 8 May 2021 14:21 BST

Luxury Yacht Group is about to celebrate 20 years in the yachting industry! June 1st marks the day founder Rupert Connor opened the doors with one office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida specializing in crew placement with a personalized approach and a vision to streamline the hiring process through technology and individualized relationships.

Now in our twentieth year, we have grown from a boutique operation to a global business with employees and offices worldwide. We have proven success in crew placement with:

  • 135,000 registered captains and crew
  • 10,500 registered employers
  • We placed more crew than any other agency worldwide
  • We vet and personally speak to every candidate that we put forward
  • Over 90% of our new applicants come from referrals
Luxury Yacht Group maintains the world's largest, most-user friendly and comprehensive database adding newly qualified candidates and top crew positions daily.

Since its inception in 2001, Luxury Yacht Group has expanded exponentially with the growing demands within the industry and has added sales, charter and management divisions to service a yacht owner's every need. Due in large part to our intimate relationship with a select number of clients, a focus on quality, and our in-depth knowledge of the industry this expansion was a natural progression for our clients and our business.

Founder and president Rupert Connor states, "Twenty years has flown by. Where we are today is far removed from what we envisioned back in 2001, but the core concepts of believing in people and empowering them to succeed remains the same. Our first twenty years has been sculpted by some fabulous clients and crew. We are blessed to work with such an interesting and diverse group from whom we learn every day. The whole Luxury Yacht Group family has seen so much growth as the industry has evolved but our core focus has always been on relationships with great crew. I've been fortunate to work with some amazing people who have jumped onboard and believed in the mission that I've set out to perform."

Over the past twenty years, Luxury Yacht Group has been successful at evolving and staying ahead of the yachting industry to offer its clients efficient and effective solutions to all their yachting needs. We work collaboratively with clients to access their requirements and offer the best possible solutions for shore support from crew placement to accounting to the purchasing of new yachts and look forward to another twenty years in the business.
