GOST announces powerful new functionality for Satellite Tracking Systems

GOST® (Global Ocean Security Technologies), a world leader in marine security, tracking, monitoring and video surveillance systems for over 15 years, announced today a powerful new velocity tracking functionality for the award-winning Nav-Tracker IDP Series satellite tracking system.

The new feature incorporates an accelerometer into the antenna, allowing users to set a reporting interval when the boat is moving over a certain speed. This reporting interval begins when the boat is in use, even if the geofence system is disarmed. The feature, when enabled from the GOST Specter website, will automatically adjust the frequency of reports to 2, 5, 15, 30 minutes or 1, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24 hours whenever the boat is going above 2 knots.

"We're very excited about the new velocity-based report capabilities of our proven Nav-Tracker IDP Series antennas," said Brian Kane, chief technology officer, GOST. "While our systems' primary goal has always been to track down stolen boats and alert the customer when an armed boat moves, our clients also use our systems for many other reasons, such as knowing the boat is close to its destination while doing a crossing or if loved ones are on their way back in from a day of fishing offshore. This new feature adds another layer of ingenuity; removing any potential user error by automatically tracking, on defined levels, when the boat is in use. Our tracking systems are designed to ensure that no matter where you are in the world, you will have total awareness of the status of your boat and confidence that your investment is being protected."

The IDP Series tracking system command and control interface is managed by the GOST Specter website launched last year. Since its launch, Specter is already approaching 1,000 users. The Specter interface offers a streamlined and user-friendly control of geo-fence monitoring and alerts, remote arm/disarm functionality, as well as real-time GPS tracking. The interface retains a 90-day tracking history and text/email alerts. It is also capable of monitoring multiple vessels for fleet management.
