The Volvo Noble Marine RS400 National Championship has reached the 50-boat entry limit 6 months ahead of the event at South Shields Sailing Club in August 2021.

Names are now being added to a waiting list. In a message to RS400 sailors, Class Secretary Sally Campbell said, "If you would like to come, but haven't entered or put your name on the waiting list, we ask that you please do so as soon as possible."

The RS Class Association are in regular contact with the organisers at South Shields Sailing Club and are very much working on being able to run the Nationals, with measures in place to comply with whatever restrictions may be in force at that time. For example, leaving more space between boats than usual in the dinghy park and adapting social events.

"If we see strong demand from sailors for extra places, we will see if there is anything that we can do to increase the limit." said Sally "Some options may be more viable with say an additional 20 boats, rather than just a handful. Equally if the requirements for social distancing ease we may be able to fit more boats in."

The message from the class to those sailors wanting to come, but without a place is that "we can't plan for a demand we don't know about, so - to cut to the chase - if you want to come please get your name on the list!"
