Nominated for the Equipment Innovation of the Year award category, the Exposure OLAS Guardian wireless engine kill switch is the only item of dedicated powerboat equipment selected for the British Yachting Awards 2020.

This small wearable device kills the engine within two seconds of a person falling overboard. Doubling as a loud MOB alarm too, the device connects up to 15 tags, which are worn by all crew members and the driver ensuring everyone is 'virtually-tethered' yet free to move around the boat.

Suitable for use with inboard as well as outboard engines, it is discreet to fit, connects to the existing engine kill switch system and can be used alongside a physical kill-cord. As well as sounding an alarm if anyone falls out, OLAS also sounds an audible reminder when it detects you are on board, or have returned to the boat, and have not connected up. Which a physical kill cord simply can't do.

As well as for leisure powerboaters, the OLAS Guardian is already gaining popularity with safety boat crews and watersports centres. It has been adopted by a variety of top level coaches including David Howlett, former personal coach to Sir Ben Ainslie, one of the most successful Olympic sailors in history.
