The ocean connects us all... even from our computers

Despite members of 11th Hour Racing Team remaining close to home during the ongoing global pandemic, the team has stayed busy with virtual appearances across the web the past few weeks.

This last month we saw livestream and webinar appearances by Mark and Charlie with the New York Yacht Club, team partner Oakcliff Sailing Center, Rocking the Boat, an 11th Hour Racing grantee in New York City, and Greenflash - the sustainability team of Mudratz, a youth sailing program out of Connecticut.

Be sure to check out The Ocean Race's "Off Watch" Youtube series. The race has a powerful line-up of veteran sailors, including our very own Damian Foxall, the team's Sustainability Program Manager. Damian chats about his sailing journey (can you believe he's participated in 10 round the world races?!) and how he developed a passion for ocean health. You can catch Damian live in the 2-part webinar series "Champions of the Future" with Sport and Sustainability International on July 2 and 9, register here.

Our team reconnected with the ocean virtually during The Ocean Race Summit - The Hague at end of May. Charlie dug into the mental state of an offshore racer and Amory discussed the power of storytelling for ocean health. Find your "blue mind" by watching the replay.

On World Oceans Day (June 8) Mark dove below the surface with Schmidt Ocean Institute exploring the Coral Sea Marine Park off the coast of Australia. Discover the depths of the ocean that connect us all here.

Stay tuned for more appearances from the team this summer and updates on the team's 2020 sailing program.

In the first of our regular series catching up with various team members, we chat with Boat Captain James O'Mahony.
