Volvo Penta will feature its latest engines, drive systems and integrated propulsion solutions at the Virtual Palm Beach International Boat Show, which opens Thursday, May 14.

Amid the Coronavirus pandemic, the Palm Beach show organizers cancelled the annual live event and announced launch of its first-ever virtual exhibition. The online event will mimic an in-person boat show with virtual booths, interactive video boat tours, online chats with exhibitors, a virtual stage with entertainment and educational presentations and shopping malls with retailers.

In its virtual booth, Volvo Penta will feature the D13-IPS1350 propulsion package, the award-winning lineup of next-generation D4 and D6 engines and a comprehensive suite of Easy Boating solutions.

The D13-IPS1350 is Volvo Penta's most powerful IPS to date, delivering superior performance, maneuverability, comfort and reliability.

The D4 and D6 marine propulsion packages include redesigned engines, new DPI sterndrive for silent and smooth shifting, updated IPS drive and an enhanced Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) data platform.

In the Easy Boating virtual display, guests will experience Volvo Penta's revolutionary customer-centric innovations, including Glass Cockpit, joystick docking and driving, active corrosion protection for sterndrives, dynamic positioning system for automatic station keeping and more. A "contact us" form is available in the virtual booth for any visitors interested in learning more about any of these Volvo Penta solutions.

"While we were looking forward to participation in the Palm Beach International Boat Show for the very first time, we applaud organizers for switching gears so quickly," said Martin Bjuve, president and CEO of Volvo Penta of the Americas. "This virtual show complements well our efforts in exploring new avenues and interactive technologies that are sure to become part of the buying process, not just in the near-term but into the future as well."

The Virtual Palm Beach International Boat Show opens May 14, the same date that the live show would have started. The event's organizers said the boat show was scheduled to have $1.2 billion worth of yachts, accessories and boating products with over 400 exhibitors.

Admission is free. Visitors can register to attend at www.pbboatshow.com.
