Sailing clubs and class associations encouraged to share their 2020 plans

It's true there is little racing to look forward to at present, but YachtsandYachting.com still see this as a great time for class organisations and sailing clubs to publicise their news and plans for 2020, without having to focus on what is missing from the calendar.

Across the land, we know that many clubs have seen hard work by volunteers to improve the facilities. There are some classes who have been debating rule changes and looking at developments which could improve the health of the class, or proposing new formats in order to encourage participation. We would love to hear your news, and share it on our website.

2019 was a year when YachtsandYachting.com really started to push the message of grassroots participation. It is important that we get people to have fun with their sailing, and inspire future generations too. If your class or club is embracing that message, do tell us about it, so the ideas that work can be passed to more people in our sport.

There was an excellent series of webinars on The Future of Sailing which was designed to spread the word on club initiatives and success stories. Those are well worth watching again, and do let us know if your organisation is planning to implement any of the ideas.

In a similar way, sustainability became a new watchword for many groups, and we have heard from lots of classes keen to do their bit to protect our environment. Does your class or club have plans for 2020 in this direction? Let us know, so we can continue to inspire each other.

Last year we heard some inspiring environmental stories from Emsworth Sailing Club and the OK class. Event organisers such as Cowes Week also had green plans.

Please send your news to club@yachtsandyachting.com and let the rest of the nation see the great things you have in store for the day when the 2020 season finally begins.
