Its official, the "2020 Hansa SKUD18 Australian National Championships" is approved by the International Hansa Class Association.

The International Hansa Class Association have jumped onboard with the 2020 SKUD18 Australian National Championships at Southport Yacht Club (SYC).

Host event, Bartercard Sail Paradise Regatta will crown the 2020 Hansa SKUD18 National Champion.

"The facilities at SYC and the Gold Coast weather conditions are perfect for this Class of event, having trained off the coasts shoreline for many State and National's Championships in previous years, myself and my fellow crewman Max Quan are extremely excited to represent SYC at the event," said the 2018 & 2019 Australian Para Sailing National Champion, Ross Manning. "The racing in the offshore waters off Surfers Paradise is second to none and it is wonderful of SYC to bring these Championships into their Premier Regatta Sail Paradise. We are anticipating an awesome fleet of the Skud18 Class and we know the Competition is going to be really tough with competitors travelling from as far away as Perth, Melbourne & Sydney".

Held from Thursday 2nd January to Sunday 5th January 2020, the four-day Regatta will be staged offshore the beautiful Gold Coast beaches. With 66 entries so far, the Regatta is expected to exceed over 80 entries.

"Bringing these high calibre Championships to our premier Sail Paradise Regatta increases the significance of our annual event and allows us to showcase our Club's on water activity and Gold Coast's perfect weather conditions," said Club Commodore, Ray McMahon.

It will be an amazing sight in January, giving the community the opportunity to watch the competing yachts within close proximity of the Gold Coast beaches.
