For SA anglers who enjoy either the open waters off the coast or prefer our inland waterways, the Adelaide Boat Show promises new vessels, the latest rods, tackle, accessories and loads of technology designed to make your day on the water even more enjoyable.

Being South Australia's most comprehensive boating show, open from the 28th to the 30th of June at the Adelaide Convention Centre, the Show is the place to choose and buy your rod and reel combo, as well as fish finders, hard and soft lures, bait buckets, landing nets or even your next boat to go with all your new gear.

From family runabouts to fishing tinnies, this show presents the best in recreational and serious fishing. If you want real fishing and boating advice with guidance from industry experts, the popular fishing clinics are not to be missed. Hear stories from industry experts, and pick up a few tips and tricks that otherwise might take years to master.

Australia's largest glass-sided fishing demonstration tank is on-site at the Adelaide Boat Show this year. At 15 metres long, the glass Supertank holds 14,500 litres of water with live fish, presenting an educational and entertaining fishing experience throughout the show. Daily demonstrations indicate the effectiveness of various lures, where the audience actually witnesses how different skills and techniques effect the response of fish. It's a revealing insight into what is often unseen below the surface of the water.

Local fishing legend Greg James will also be on-hand to share his stories and tips on the best fishing locations in the state and along the coast, as well as the important considerations when buying a boat. His advice is not to be missed.

Adult entry tickets to the show are $10, with kids 5-17 years of age $5. Kids under 5 years old are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.

Alan Blake, President of the Boating Industry Association Ltd staging the event, said fishing represents the great Australian pastime of enjoying the outdoors with friends and family. "The Adelaide Boat Show always brings together the leading dealers and manufacturers from across the state, Australia and beyond, ready to showcase the latest in fishing, boating and marine technology," he said. "This is definitely the show in SA where all your questions about spending more time on the water and catching bigger and better fish can be answered."

South Australia's boating and fishing facilities are world class, and the Boating Industry Association Ltd responds to local industry growth by continuing the tradition of this boat show with a long and proud history. "Well-equipped marinas have sprung up in coastal regional centres over the past ten years, and there's high-quality infrastructure in place for boaters of all persuasions," Alan Blake said. "The state is now a well-regarded destination for cruising, long-range fishing or inshore water sports."
