Flagstaff Marine has announced the acquisition of The Yacht Brokerage, one of the leading yacht brokerage companies in Queensland.

Graham Raspass, Founder and Co-owner of Flagstaff Marine, commented, "We have been exploring various options in terms of how best to position ourselves in the Queensland market and by coincidence, Peter Nicholson, the Founder of The Yacht Brokerage, indicated he was looking to sell the second-hand brokerage side of his business to enable him to concentrate on new boat sales through Spirit Marine."

Flagstaff Marine Queensland/The Yacht Brokerage Queensland (TYBQ) will operate from the existing premises at Hope Harbour and the newly opened office at Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron. Flagstaff Marine QLD/TYBQ are also looking at expanding their operations to the Sunshine Coast.

Raspass further commented – "The Yacht Brokerage, established over four years ago, has rapidly grown to be one of Australia's premier brokerages. Peter Nicholson, the founder of TYB, will continue to work with us in a consultancy capacity and I am delighted to say all of the existing team of brokers will also be continuing on. From the customer's point of view there will be minimal changes and over time we plan to combine the best of TYBQ with the best of our existing very successful brokerage business Vicsail Sydney."

Micah Lane, co- owner of Flagstaff Marine, commented, "The combined second-hand boat listings of Vicsail Sydney and The Yacht Brokerage will make us one of the largest brokers in Australia, offering buyers a choice of over 150 quality sail, multihull and power used boats to choose from."

In addition to the selling of second-hand boats, Flagstaff Marine Queensland/TYBQ will also represent Flagstaff Marine's new boat brands, including the Beneteau range of inboard power boats - Gran Turismo, Swift Trawler, Antares, the luxury Monte Carlo range, AMEL yachts and the new Groupe Beneteau catamaran brand - EXCESS.

"We will also work closely with Spirit Marine, delivering to their Gold Coast customers new boat sales, after sales and service support," added Raspass.

Raspass and Lane plan to divide their time between their offices in Sydney and Newport and the newly acquired offices on the Gold Coast and in Manly.
