Harken UK are looking for a new crew member! As a sales representative you will be working in the aftermarket sector striving to grow our market share and supporting and guiding our customers.

You will be working with a variety of account types who are based all over the UK so it is important that you enjoy a challenge and variation. You will need to be a self-starter with good administration skills, happy to take the initiative and execute sales plans and strategies while also building a good relationship with our customers.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a keen sailor with considerable experience behind you and technical knowledge of deck hardware applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage trade accounts, including;
  • New business development
  • Target setting for the year
  • Relationship building
  • Quotes and specifications
  • Merchandising
• Assist with creating the aftermarket strategies annually and quarterly
• Identify marketing campaigns and liaise with the marketing team to drive them to successful completion
• Technical support to customers and end users
• Support and attend marine Shows

Essential Requirements

• Field sales experience in the marine industry
• A proven track record of hitting targets
• Experience working to a detailed sales strategy
• Technical knowledge of sailing equipment and deck hardware
• Experience of computerized order input and CRM systems
• Competent and confident in using Excel
• Ability to identify and create business opportunities
• Good standard of spoken and written English
• Full driving license

Location, Hours and Benefits

• Full time (8:30am-5:30pm, Monday to Friday), both on the road and at our head office in Lymington
