You can be a sailor for years and not know that there are different grades of stainless steel. Different grades offer options in the balance between structural strength and corrosion resistance.
It's important to Harken to offer a range of options in our padeye line-up wide enough to solve as many rigging challenges as possible. So, we've engineered new alternatives in duplex stainless. Duplex stainless offers increased amounts of chromium in the alloy for enhanced corrosion resistance at very high relative strengths.
Hole spacings and bases in the duplex options are square to provide that addition to our previous offerings where bases are round, rectangular or diamond shaped.
The bails in these cast duplex parts have been structurally shaped to add relative strength and help align load for the rigging application with the block mounted to the padeye.
