Lloyd Hayes Junior open meeting at West Lancashire Yacht Club

On the 21st July the seventh round of the RYA North West Junior Travellers Trophy took place at West Lancashire Yacht Club in Southport.

32 boats were greeted with sunshine and an 8 knot breeze from the East and the first of 3 races got underway at eleven o'clock sharp.

The winners of the handicap fleet with three firsts, were Sam Cooper and Gabe Hill from West Lancs YC sailing a GP14, Alastair Rimmer from Southport SC in a Laser Radial came second and third was Tom Brindley from Redesmere SC in a Laser Radial.

The Lloyd Hayes Trophy, for first Under 17, was won by Leah Fidling from Chester SCC in a Topper, Noe Peckham from Leigh and Lowton SC came second in a Topper and Alexander Lowery from Elton SC came third in a Topper.

The Optimist fleet started 5 minutes after the handicap fleet. The Bob Willietts Optimist Trophy was won by Patrick Bromilow from West Kirby SC, second was Max Ewing from West Kirkby SC and third was Jacob Bennett from Debdale SC.

The Topper Open was won by Alexander Lowery from Elton SC, second was Leah Fidling from Chester SCC and third was Noe Peckham from Leigh and Lowton SC.

We would like to thank everyone from the host club for their help and we hope all the participants and parents enjoyed the day, getting home safely.
