European Championships Overall

WILSON AND HOWDEN NINTH OVERALL

Britain's Rob Wilson and Will Howden put on show several months of hard training over the winter months with a highly creditable ninth place overall (fifth nation) from 66 boats, at the Tornado European Championships in Pollensa (situated on one of Spain's Balearic Islands) at the weekend.

The final day of racing was cancelled due to an increasingly shifty and dying breeze, with the final overall positions therefore staying as they were after the fourth and penultimate day of racing.

"This is a great result from Rob and Will and should see them in good stead for this years world championship in Denmark," said Olympic Manager John Derbyshire.

John Pierce and Barry Roche were the next British pairing in 20th place overall.
