Rick Tomlinson announces the opening of his new Gallery in Cowes, Isle of Wight
The Gallery officially opened with an exhibition of pictures from his 2005 assignments with the Superyacht Adele. Pictures include dramatic glaciers, wildlife and sailing photographs of Adele in Norway and the Arctic.
Rick Tomlinson moved his base from Hamble to Cowes earlier this year and is pleased to open this new gallery displaying photographs, calendars and his highly successful book Shooting H20. Situated close to the two marinas in Cowes, the gallery comprises a picture display area and office. Photographs on display are for sale at reasonable prices (£120 for the larger 50 x 70cm framed photographs).
Tomlinson started his career as a professional sailor racing in 4 Whitbread Round the World Races: Drum, The Card, Intrum Justitia and Team EF. It was the photographs taken onboard Drum that started his interest in Yachting Photography. 12 years later in his last Whitbread, with EF Language, he was commissioned by National Geographic magazine. Since that time he has enjoyed a highly successful photographic career being commissioned by many high profile projects including Ellen McAthur, Team Phillips, GBR Challenge and the Volvo Ocean Race. His current projects include Ericsson Racing Team and the Superyacht Adele’s sailing programme. He is regarded as one of the elite group of International Yachting Photographers.
