British Sailing squad members Fynn Sterrit and James Peters have joined Team Allen and will be racing in 2017 with support from the British performance sailing manufacturer. They will be campaigning a 49er in the 2017 World Championships and have already set their sights on the ultimate challenge of 49er Olympic gold in Tokyo 2020.
Fynn sails with James Peters in the 49er class. So far in his career, he has also competed successfully in other classes, taking the J70 National Championships in 2016, Podium places in the Fireball Worlds and Nationals in 2015 and victory in the 2015 Semaine Olympique Francaise, amongst numerous other successes and places.
"We are looking forward to getting Allen involved in our campaign", explained Fynn," because their "off the shelf" hardware is top quality, while their design and manufacturing resources mean we can test new ideas and really get the best out of the boat. They have a track record of producing innovative hardware for the 49ers and I cannot wait to start working with the Team to try out new ideas."
We are really pleased to be working with Fynn and James", added Liz Adams, MD of Allen Brothers, "Team Allen already supports the British Sailing 49er / 49er FX squads with Dylan Fletcher / Alain Sign and Charlotte Dobson / Sophie Ainsworth and adding Fynn and James to the Team is a massive endorsement of Allen equipment."
