This year's Phantom Nationals are rapidly approaching and will be held at South Shields Sailing Club on the Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th September 2016. Entries are coming in thick and fast so don't delay, complete your entry form at www.phantomclass.org.uk/?page_id=18901

Early Entry fee of £100 before 1st August and £130 thereafter. Enter today and put the £30 to your beer fund!

Thanks to sponsorship from The Morton Partnership and Colonial Capital Group Plc, this year's entry fee includes:

  • 7 Races (2 races Friday, 3 races Saturday, 2 races Sunday) with 5 to count
  • Bacon roll & restorative cuppa before sailing Friday, Saturday and Sunday, BBQ Friday evening and 2 course meal Saturday evening
  • A Nationals branded full zipped fleece jacket

This is the first visit to the North for a couple of years, with South Shields pulling out all the stops, so make us proud with a good turn out from the North and the South. There are a range of guesthouses and hotels in the area - for accommodation ideas, please see www.soshields-sailing.co.uk/index.php/join-in/accommodation-mainmenu-52.

For those who like to camp, there is very limited camping space and room for camper vans on site so this will be strictly on a first come first served basis. Best to turn up early and get some extra sailing practise in!

    • Sunday 4th Sept. 10.25 (2 races)

Please also remember to be eligible for the Phantom Nationals you need to be a fully paid up member of the Phantom class association and display your 2016 sticker on your transom.

We will also be doing spot weight and measurement checks on boats and sails (and sailors) so please help avoid any embarrassment and ensure your sail has been measured, your boat has all the correct bands on the boom/mast and a valid measurement certificate.

The committee would appreciate measurement of sails and boats being done before the nationals as it affects their own 'preparation' time
