Hyde Sails have recently brought a new Ovington boat 505 fitted out by Holger Jess. With the aim of success at the 2016 World Championships at Weymouth. Richard Lovering and crew Matt Alvarado, who won the Flying 15 nationals this year, have taken up the challenge.
Sunday saw the sails out for the beginning of their testing schedule and development program.
With Richie's boat not arriving until next weekend at the Inland's, the initial trials were done by Dave Hall, Hyde Sails One Design Sales Manager and in house Fireball guru and Neil Fulcher in his boat. They sailed on Sunday morning at Stone Sailing Club with a good 12-16 knots.
Report from Dave Hall Hyde Sails One Design Sales Manager: "In spite of a grey day on the Essex coast it was a productive weekend for Hyde Sails. Dave Hall spent the day with Neil Fulcher sailing and using the recently developed 505 sails. We were very pleased with the sails on their first outing. Hyde will be focusing on the 505 ready for next year. Richard will pick up the testing and continue the development of the sails."
