Hyde Sails' new B1 designs win F15 UK Inland Championship 2025

A close fought battle with Hyde's One Design Sales Manager, Ben McGrane, winning crewed by Scott Dawson. Conditions were varied for the weekend with strong winds on Saturday and a more moderate Sunday. Another great result for the new B1 designs!

Congratulations also go to Bill Chard and Josh Preater who finished 5th overall with a full suit of Hyde sails.

Our design team ran a focused development on the F15 sails over the winter of 2023, the objectives were to improve the downwind performance with a more user friendly full radial spinnaker design and a mainsail which maintains its depth in the top half of the sail when sailing off the wind. We also wanted a more user friendly upwind package that performed more consistently across the wind range. Since their launch the B1 designs have achieved great results in a variety of conditions.

"Following our win at the 2023 National Championships and Richard Lovering's 3rd at the 2022 European Championships we had identified key areas in which we felt the sails could be improved, much of this has been refining the designs to create new B1 suit from which it is easier to extract the maximum performance across the full wind range. To our customers we now recommend the B1 mainsail and jib for teams above 160kg, below this weight the B1 main can be combined with our flat jib design to great effect."
