Henri Lloyd's Elite Jacket has won the Sailing Today Awards 2015 Clothing Innovation category. The award was presented at the Southampton Boat Show and accepted by Paul Strzelecki, Henri Lloyd's Joint CEO.
Henri Lloyd launched the Elite range of foul weather sailing gear in 2013, using new fabrics and new technologies to significantly reduce the weight without compromise to bring you the lightest most breathable sailing garments ever.
Henri Lloyd CEO Paul Strzelecki commented after receiving the award: "Winning an award that has been voted by the public is such an honour, from all at Henri Lloyd we would like to thank Sailing Today and their readers for voting for the Henri Lloyd Elite Jacket".
Sailing Today Editor Sam Fortescue said: "Sailing clothing is another area of vigorous development and strong innovation. And we are fortunate in the UK to have so many clothing brands with genuine worldwide reach.
"It came down to a hair's-breadth tussle with Crewsaver's ergonomic 3D Fusion lifejacket range, but Henri Lloyd's top-of-the-range offshore foul weather gear won out. The garments are 30 per cent lighter and 20 per cent more breathable than their predecessors.
"There is always plenty of innovation in the clothing sector but Henri Lloyd's Elite wet weather gear stood out. It is well designed, tough and comfortable in all conditions."
