An industry leader in creating and delivering brand and live experiences, ICON, has been confirmed as Official Branding Partner of the world's longest ocean race. The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race will celebrate its tenth edition when it sets sail on 30 August 2015 from St Katharine Docks, London.

The company, which has worked on events such as London 2012, UEFA EURO 2012 and the FIFA World Cup 2014, has branded the world's largest matched fleet of ocean racing yachts. It will also provide on shore branding, and dress all 14 stopover ports during the 11 month-long race, including the spectacular Race Start Village in London.

Alastair Bewick, CEO of ICON, says: "ICON is the only truly global company delivering end-to-end brand and live experiences around the world, and as a result the synergies and opportunities with the Clipper Race were obvious. Over the next two years, I'm excited about working with Clipper 2015-16 Round the World Yacht Race, the teams and fellow partners in bringing their brands to life.

"We're also looking forward to delivering one of the most welcoming and rewarding sights for all the crews – the finishing area at every stage!"

All twelve Clipper 70 yachts are in St Katharine Docks for the start of the tenth edition race, celebrating their team identities and sporting custom made boom covers, 21 metre forestay flags and deck branding. An impressive 1,128 metres of specialist marine grade vinyl has been used by ICON to wrap the entire fleet and taken 684 man hours to complete each yacht's transformation into its vibrant team colours.

The Clipper 2015-16 Race will be the biggest event yet with more than 700 crew taking part. The fleet will visit ten countries around the world, providing a strong global platform to showcase ICON's graphic and experiential expertise.

The Clipper Race was founded by Sir Robin-Knox Johnston, the first man to sail solo non-stop around the world, and offers non-professional sailors the opportunity to achieve something remarkable, racing on the fleet of matched 70-foot ocean racing yachts under the guidance of a professional skipper.

Sir Robin welcomed the announcement saying: "We have enjoyed working with ICON to brand the fleet for the tenth edition race this year. ICON has been responsible for branding some of the world's most iconic sports events and the colourful fleet is sure to make an impact in ports around the world. It's fantastic to work with a partner that brings such a huge wealth of experience with them and I am pleased to welcome them on board as Official Branding Partner."

Visit the spectacular fleet at the Race Village in St Katharine Docks open to the public this week from 10:00am to 6:00pm right through until the long awaited fleet departure under Tower Bridge on Sunday 30 August.
