Miami Bacardi Sailing Week and the VX ONE

by Ovington Boats 16 Mar 2015 17:15 GMT 16 March 2015

Bacardi Race week has been around for some time. 88 years in fact, and has gone from being the cornerstone of the Star class annual calendar to an amazing platform representing the new paradigm featuring leading Asymmetric classes and this year the Marstrom 32 Catamaran.

This year, the multi award winning VX ONE enjoyed its second year of racing with a 22 boat strong fleet with a hugely diverse group of sailors and highly competitive, yet distinctly fun atmosphere both ashore and on the racecourse.

Going into the last race the family team of Philip and Christina Norris, with guest, and total newbie to sailing Brenna Paes held a small lead only to loose the regatta in a tie breaker in the finally to the team of John Potter and David Guggenheim from Beaufort, SC.

Introducing the VX ONE Caribbean Cup

The game takes a big step forward in 2016 with the announcement that the VX ONE will be the feature class at the BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival, and St Thomas International regatta. These two events will form the XV ONE Caribbean Cup, the first international event on the VX ONE World schedule one month after Bacardi Sailing week.

This is a great opportunity to spend over a week, racing and partying in one of the most idyllic racing locations on the planet. Check in with the Ovington team for more information on charters and all inclusive packages.
