Eighteen of Lymington X divisions finest appeared for the final race of the season. With the wind gusting 20 kts from a shifty north west Malcolm McKeag and his team set an interesting course using a passing mark halfway up the beat on a strong ebb tide to mark A, Echopilot.
John Ollif Cooper's Excalibur, X87, ripped off the start line initially chased by Mark Lees helming X117 Oyster. On the run to Black Rock Stuart Jardine helming X178 Beatrix and Paul Woodman's Ibex, X32, made significant gains and on the following run to mark G, Bridgefords, there were some very different opinions as to the best route to take. Interestingly however, little changed in positions and despite Ibex closing up on the next two legs the lead positions stayed the same with Rory Paton healing X48 XL Rory fending off David da Cunha's Mayday, X161, with Ado Jardine in X140 Lucrezia in 6th.
