Henri Lloyd is proud to announce that it will be supporting the Andrew Simpson Sailing Centre, in Weymouth & Portland. The new sailing centre opened in early May, set up in memory of Olympic and America's Cup sailor Andrew Simpson who sadly lost his life in a training accident during the America's Cup in 2013.

Henri Lloyd will supply shore kit for the staff, coaches and ambassadors at the centre.

After attending the official opening ceremony, Paul Strzelecki, Join CEO of Henri Lloyd explained, "We are honoured to be part of this new initiative which has been set up to support and provide opportunities for the next generation of sailors, celebrating Andrew's life and encouraging youngsters into sailing".

Henri Lloyd has a long history of working with youth sailors and clubs, to encourage young sailors as both a leisure and competition sport. The company is a strong believer in developing home grown talent and regularly works with the sailors to develop garments and kit ideally suited to their discipline. Henri Lloyd has a longstanding partnership with Sir Ben Ainslie CBE four times Olympic Gold medallist and America's Cup sailor. Ben was instrumental in founding the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation in honour of his friend and fellow sailor.

"The Andrew Simpson Sailing Centre is very grateful to Henri Lloyd for providing our staff, coaches and ambassadors with shore kit. Henri Lloyd's work with young sailors to encourage sailing participation at all levels, fits perfectly with our own aims of enabling, supporting and inspiring young people through sailing irrespective of the challenges they may face." Richard Percy, CEO, Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation.

The Andrew Simpson Sailing Centre, based at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, is a RYA accredited Centre and will deliver a range of sailing courses for young people, community organisations and adults; including programmes for schools, as well as club sailors.
