Hayling Island Sailing Club is launching a new 'club within a club' called the HISC 'Get Racing Club' to encourage members to take up racing in a fun, and informal format.
This brand new initiative is aimed at a wide cross section of members including those new to sailing, lapsed racers, less confident sailors, those wishing to start racing, those keen to helm or crew for the first time and members who would like to race but don't have a boat, as well as all those members who can sail but have never raced. The racing, which is planned to be held twice a month, on a Saturday from late April throughout the summer, will be informal and fun with 3 short, back-to-back races set within the harbour plus the full support of the HISC rescue and safety boats as well as some informal on-water tips and coaching.
Members with boats such as Lasers, RS Visions, RS200s, Wayfarers, Q'ba's and others who don't normally race will all be encouraged to take part and for those members without a suitable boat, HISC will make their fleet of 6 RS Ventures available for free for the 'Get Racing Club' events. The 'Get Racing Club' format is intended to be informal and fun with pre and post event briefings and prize giving immediately after racing on the beach.
The 'HISC Get Racing Club' will be launched on Saturday 19th April 2014 at 7pm in the HISC main bar; join us at the launch event to find out all about the new HISC 'Get Racing Club'.
The first Get Racing Club event will be held on Saturday 26th April 2014 at 3pm for full details please visit the website at www.hisc.co.uk or email .
