The NSSA 2/2 Team Racing, opener to the school team racing season, took place at Farmoor Reservoir on March 15th, hosted by ODSSA. 20 two boat teams teams took part sailing Fireflys, initially in four leagues of 5, the top two teams from each league went forward to the best of three races quarter finals.
The quarter finals were best of three races and consisted of Worcester v Oxford Team Racing Academy Juniors, Oxford TRA 2 v OTRA 1, Magdalen College School B v Clares Court and MCS A V Stanford. Going throught to the Semis 2:0 were OTRA Jr, MCS A and B but it took three races for OTRA 2 to defeat OTRA 1.
In the semi finals OTRA jrs were against MCS B and OTRA 2 against MCS A and bo0th Magdalen teams were swept aside 2:0 by the Academy teams leaving them with a single race playoff for third place which was taken by MCS A.
Thus the Final was between the Oxford Team Racing Academy Junior team and their second team, and the second team emerged the winners 2:1. Both teams will represent the NSSA in the RYA Twiname Team Racing in October.
