With the current cold and wet weather it is the ideal time to think of how much better things could be. On that note, the beaches of Brittany are beckoning for the Enterprise, Lark, Merlin Rocket, National 12 and Scorpion fleets this May. The event is to be held over the bank holiday weekend (also half term for those with kids) and entries are already flooding in, surprisingly for 5 national classes there are even entries from France, Belgium and Australia!

To date we have received entries from:

  • 16 Enterprises
  • 11 Larks
  • 26 Merlins
  • 8 National 12s
  • 22 Scorpions

In other news, there have been a few developments on the social front. Sunday night there is a 3 legged race around Carnac planned – don't worry though there will be a few hydration stops along the way – and, after a free meal on the Monday night, planning for a big, multi-fleet crews union is currently underway. As a helm I don't get to (or want to) know any of the details but I am assured it will be a quiet, civilised affair where crews get together to hone their skills...

To help with planning it would be a big help if anyone else contemplating joining us could get their entries in as soon as possible. Full details are available at www.carnac2014.org including the online entry form and information on discounted ferries courtesy of Brittany Ferries, discounted camping close to the club and everything else going on.

25 events, 23 wins, one World title, four National titles, and one that got away! RS100 Salcombe Gin Eurocup at Carnac
Event sees beautiful sportsmanship and yields beautiful report writing I don't know about anyone else, but I'd almost forgotten, what with the various unpleasantnesses of the past few years, what a joy France can be. RS200 Salcombe Gin Eurocup at Carnac overall
Final two days' racing held in stronger winds The expectation for day three of the RS200 Salcombe Gin EuroCup was much more breeze than the first two days. Depending on the chosen forecast this could reach well in to the 20s in the puffs. Posted on 7 Jun 2022
