Soto 40 Off Valparaíso Race at Yacht Club de Chile - Day 1

The Off Valparaíso Race in Chile, the first date of the VTR Oceánico Championship for the Soto 40 International Class, started today.

Ten boats are participating in this event, nine of them from Chile "Apolonia " (CHI026), "Santander" (CHI012), "Movistar" (CHI013), "Itaú" (CHI011), "Entel" (CHI014), "Pisco Sour" (CHI016), "Pisco Sour Black" (CHI017), "Mitsubishi" (CHI015) and "Estampa del Viento", and the Argentinean Soto 40 "Patagonia" (ARG024).

The fleet completed two windward – leeward races today at the Yacht Club de Chile that were won by Jorge Araneda's "Santander" and Per Von Appen's "Entel". Araneda's Soto 40 achieved a second place in the second race and finished the day in the first position of the Overall with 3 points. In the second place is Ramos Eluchans' "Movistar" (6 pts.) and in the third one "Entel" (8 pts.)

There was a third race scheduled for today, but the Race Committee didn't started it because of the lack of wind.

2nd Yali/Movistar – 6 pts
3rd Entel – 8 pts
4th Acuario II/Mitsubishi – 10 pts
5th Itaú – 12 pts
6th Pisco Black – 12 pts
7th Pisco Sour – 13 pts
8th Estampa del Viento – 13 pts
9th Apolonia/Izod – 16 pts
10th Patagonia – 17 pts
