The final heat in the 18foot skiff season raced from the Sydney flying Squadron was fought out between 7 boats. A major wind shift before the start meant that there was a delay as an adventurous course around the harbour was set in what was unlikely to be a steady breeze.
Greenmount made excellent progress up the first beat and was able to pull out a huge lead that was never to be challenged. Further back though newcomers to the fleet Dave Rogers and Chris Kameen and Robert Poole from West Kirby Sailing Club were starting to get things together sailing Signarama a former Grand Prix boat - El Passo. Finishing 3rd behind veteran sailor Jeremy Sharp another Exile from the UK.
The winds just held long enough to have a downwind finish with the sun setting behind the harbour bridge. A fitting end to a successful season.
