Hong Kong's Harbour sailing scene kicks off 2013 with the third of four pursuit races in Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club's Top Dog Trophy Series, designed to identify and crown Hong Kong's top skipper for the 2012-2013 sailing season. This open event welcomes entries on the day from one-design keelboats or 'Class' boats, and eligible Big Boats.

Presenting Sponsor, Leica, has provided some exceptional optical equipment to be awarded to the winners of this classic pursuit race, which will feature staggered starts from 1400hrs, with the slowest boats setting off first and the remaining competitors trying to catch them over the course of the race.

In a perfect world, the result would be all boats finishing as one, however in reality, the winner will be the first boat over the finish line at the target time of 1630hrs.

Immediately after racing, a prizegiving will be held at RHKYC Kellett Island, where winning skippers will also be awarded prizes from supporting sponsor, W Hotel, while the overall winner will be presented with the Tomes Cup (originally known as the 'Sugar Refiners' Cup'), first awarded in 1880 and one of the oldest trophies in the RHKYC cabinet. Lucky Beer and Schmidt Vinothek will also support the post-race celebrations.
