A long way back was expected the sailors of the Yellow Sea Race. The leg from Qingdao to Incheon lasted almost 3 days and had the full range of conditions. At first it started with light winds close to Qingdao and continued with stormy weather and gusts reaching 30 knots. Both boats and crew were tested in the strong winds and many had to contend with damage.
As the boats were getting closer to Incheon the wind started to drop again and slowed down the pace of the race again. Irene had a safe lead from the very beginning and their tactics were really good. Elena had an even better leg strategy planned and when the wind dropped they chose to go into the Sound in order to set the spinnaker and then pinched up in order to enter the low pressure system. The strong winds that followed got them into second place behind Irene. In third place finished Haemaru and now everyone waits for the corrected times that will judge the final winner of the Yellow Sea International Yacht Race.
