Zhik, the renowned Australian performance sailing brand have formally announced their sponsorship of the Pinnell and Bax Race Team which became effective from the 1st of January 2012.
The P&B race team, now in its 14th year, are clear leaders in the dinghy sailing sector (MTA retailer of the year) and bring new equipment and the latest thinking to many sailors in a number of National and International classes.
Simon Payne of Zhik says “We are delighted to be working with the Pinnell and Bax race team. Zhik’s heritage is about developing kit in order to win races and we are committed to supporting the team who will compete in many events this year. We want others to see and experience the unique performance advantage Zhik has to offer.”
Dave Wade, Zhik/P&B race team manager said Dave Wade – “Competing across a huge variety of classes, including both trapeze and hiking, spinnaker, asymmetric and non-spinnaker, we put tremendous demands on all of our kit and that includes the clothing we wear. Trusting that clothing to offer protection and comfort is crucial when results matter.”
2012 started very well for the new Zhik/P&B race team when team sailors Tom Gillard and Sam Brearey won the Fireball World Championships in Western Australia.
The Zhik/P&B Race Team will be present at the Steve Nicholson Memorial Race at Northampton Sailing Club on Saturday the 28th of January.
