Blackwater Sailing Club Club Week 2010

More than 130 boats took part in ‘Club Week’ held at Blackwater Sailing Club from August 8th to 13th. All races were sailed on the picturesque tidal Blackwater Estuary between Maldon and Osea Island. Competitors were split into 10 different fleets (8 dinghy, 2 cruiser) with the winners from each fleet taking part in a separate race for the Cock O’the Club Bowl sailed in the club’s own Toppers on a short course in front of the clubhouse.

Andy McIvor won the Cock O’the River race. Maria Richards was awarded the Ladies Bowl for the best performance by a lady helm in any fleet during Club Week. For the second year in succession, Tom Johnson took the Wright Cup for best cadet performance. Tom won eight of the nine races sailed by the 28 boat Topper fleet. Tom Mills and crew (Fast Cruiser) and Bevis and Tessa Wright (Sprite) also dominated their respective fleets each winning all but one of the races sailed.

Blackwater Snipe Open
12 Snipes for the 2024 South Eastern Championships 12 Snipes came together at Blackwater SC on the River Blackwater to compete for the South Easterns on the 5th and 6th October. Optimist Open and Training at Blackwater
